Survey and Payment: Onam Celebrations 2014

Posted by NANMA on August 4, 2014 at 3:20 PM Comments comments (0)

Dear All,

As informed earlier, NANMA will be celebrating this year's Onam on September 20th 2014. We will also be conducting the 3rd General Body Meeting of our association on the same date.

The event will be a whole-day affair beginning at 10 AM. The Onam celebrations will include cultural events, a grand Onam sadya and some Onakalikal!! The Onam celebrations will be immediately followed by the General Body Meeting, which will elect the next Executive Committee and Office Bearers of the Association.

To organise the event in an efficient manner, we request you kindly fill-in the following survey:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/155j9QSV7fkvjl0QN6lLOgmf_P6PTLKWdX8rBze4N8lY/viewform

Please respond to the survey by 1st September 2014!!!

Please note:

1. ONLY those who will be attending the Onam celebrations need fill in this survey.

2. Please submit the survey only ONCE.

3. Please submit only one survey per family.

4. The rates for the event is fixed as follows:

Adults - 200 NOK

Children above 12 years: 100 NOK

Students - 100 NOK (Note: This rate is applicable only to adult students and their non-working spouses and not students with working spouses)

Maximum per family: 600 NOK.

Kindly make the payment to NANMA's Bank Account No: 1503.22.04292 latest by 1 September 2014. Please do mention "Onam 2014" while making the payment. In case you haven't already done so, please do include the one-time membership fee of 50 NOK each along with the payment.

In light of some suggestions/complaints in the past about the rate of 200 NOK that we have collected for Onam 2013 and plan to collect this year too, we would like to clarify some points. Our association is a non-profit organisation and does not intent to amass funds. However, as a registered organisation, there are several annual running costs. Also, while we have managed to get grants from the Kommune to cover hall rentals for the last two Onam celebrations, it is not a guarantee that we will get it always. Thus, the association needs some basic surplus funds to meet occasional one-time costs and any other eventuality. As such, it is not viable to hold the Onam celebrations on an at-cost basis. We thank you in advance for your understanding and hope that it will not deter you from joining our Onam celebrations.

You are allowed to bring non-malayali guests for the Onam celebrations, however only NANMA members can stay for the General Body Meeting.

Please feel free to share this information with your Malayali friends who are not NANMA members and do encourage them to join our association.

In case of any questions/suggestions please contact us at our email: [email protected] or the General Secretary (Mobile: 4063 3953)

Best regards.

Posted by NANMA on March 30, 2013 at 3:10 PM Comments comments (1)

Dear All,

Spring is fast approaching and hopefully we will have some pleasant weather ahead!!! To further welcome the summer in Norway, we propose to organize this year?s Summer Camp during 18-20 May 2013. The proposed location is the Bjøberg høgfjellsgard (http://www.bjoberg.no) in Hemsedal kommune (http://goo.gl/5JFd5), about half-way between Oslo and Bergen. The large cabin at Bjøberg høgfjellsgard has a capacity for 24 people. Please check-out the website for photos of the cabin and surrounding areas. We can all get-together with some fun-filled indoor and outdoor activities during the two-night stay in scenic surroundings!!!!

The estimated expense per head is 600 NOK which includes two nights stay and food. The cabin is about 3.5 hours drive from both Oslo and Bergen. The nearest railway station is Gol on the Oslo-Bergen railroute. From Gol there is bus service to Hemsedal town.

Please confirm your participation by completing the following survey before 9th April 2013. We hope to have an encouraging response from you:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1tN2Y2fDa-4fqyO3hG3ouHM5ih5s51l1VJH8AGMN3WDQ/viewform

Please note however that the confirmation is binding, except under exceptional circumstances!!! Such a measure is necessary to conduct the camp in a smooth and efficient manner. Thanks in advance for your understanding.

If you need any further information/clarification, feel free to contact the General Secretary (Ph: 406 33 953) or the President (Ph: 930 58 555).
